History
November 2004, the women networks of IBM, Rabobank, Federatie Zakenvrouwen, Capgemini, Unilever, Shell and ING met at ING in Amsterdam. In that meeting the foundation was formed for the Platform.
The Platform for Professional Women Networks was established in June 2005 in Rijswijk (Netherlands) by women networks Lioness (from ING), SPWN (from Shell), Capgemini, WIN, Randstad and Blue Pearls (from IBM).
Vision
The platform is geared at promoting cross-company networking, knowledge sharing in various areas and collaboration among member corporate women networks. The member corporate women networks come from the profit and non-profit sector in the Netherlands. The platform provides for a space where women can inspire each other, motivate each other and focus on the challenges women in today's society face in order to allow women to shape their career opportunities to the best of their ability.
Companies that have their own women network are able to become member of PFPWN.
The platform supports the following events each year:
• Annual conference on differing subjects
• Halfyear meeting of representatives of member organizations (the so called extended leadership team meeting)
• Cross company best practice sharing e.g. through attending member organization activities
